Social media is a place where many teens go to escape their reality to be “free,” but a lot of teens also go there to release their emotions. Tik-Tok is one of the main platforms teens go to express their emotions; most of the short videos will come off as jokes until you look deeper and you see the teen is talking about their struggle with depression. Many teens like, comment, and re-share posts or short videos that they relate to. As a community, we should take notice of the videos our youth are making and help our youth. A conversation with Hasini lakshminarayanan, Maria Ortega, Chebijira Esther, Ayesha Shaikh.
9:30am - 11:15am EST
Talk with Leaders: Partnering to Create a Better Future
We are the generation we've been waiting for. However, it’s only together with other generations that we can turn ripples of change into waves. In this session, leaders in positions of power to make change will join youth from around the globe to discuss intergenerational partnership for a better future.

Beyond a place to share stories, we also create opportunities for young people to develop their writing, media literacy and multimedia skills, connect with L.A. Times staff and immerse themselves in the field of journalism with Molly Heber and Chuying Huo.
